By default, SharePoint doesn’t support FTP let alone SFTP. However, there is a simple method to configure SharePoint as an FTP / SFTP server with Couchdrop. It is simple to set up and you can hit the ground running in less than a minute.

Since the goal is to SFTP to SharePoint, you'll need to create additional users for anyone you want to access SharePoint via SFTP. Couchdrop allows granular permissions and you can lock down access to specific folders, like a directory in your connected SharePoint site.

Step 4. Send users their credentials and they can connect via SFTP / FTP

Depending if you are connecting via SFTP or FTP, you can connect using the above-created users through any SFTP client. The user will then be able to access the SharePoint directories and transfer files via SFTP.
