Secure file transfers are important for businesses that need to share sensitive information. This article will show you how to use secure file transfers with cloud storage to keep your data safe and share files responsibly.

Mount your cloud platform

You can mount any cloud storage service as a storage location for your data at rest and for your external party to drop files into.

It’s fairly simple by following these steps:

  1. Log into (or create) your Couchdrop account
  2. Click Add Storage Integration
  3. Follow the steps required to connect your storage

Add external users to securely share files with

You can add external users to share your files with via SFTP or a custom branded web portal or you can simply create a secure shared link to provide to the external party, all while isolating them to a specific subfolder.

Upload the file

Have the external party upload files to your cloud storage safely through whatever method is easiest for you and them. You can even brand the web portal to your company's logo and colors.

Get alerted

Once a file has been uploaded (or downloaded) get real-time alerts where you want them. Receive alerts and notifications via email, webhooks, Slack, Teams, etc.

Auditing and logging

Unlike sharing with the cloud platforms, Couchdrop provides in-depth logging and reporting right down to each ‘ls’ call. File transfer events, file operations, authentication, admin, and malware events are all available through Couchdrop’s portal — regardless of your backend storage.
